What is funny, and sometimes endearing, is how often change happens to people orthogonally to the direction they are trying to change in. It seems to come from time, love, being open to new ideas, not having all the answers, and maybe even a little therapy.

Absolutely. The attempts to change inspire a reworking of axioms, which changes the original intentions toward change.

Change needs more synonyms.
