mood: giddygiddy
music: the whirring of computer fans and sizzling steak

A somewhat randomly selected large collection of friends came to our home Saturday around 7:21 or so, and we covered every raised flat surface in the front room with tinfoil and candles. Lots and lots of candles. The idea comes to us by way of several friends from the book _Generation X_. So many candles, such a sight, people are awed into silence. Or noise. Or, in this case, marvelously bad puns. We've done this for several years now on this day. The longest night of the year, and I enjoyed it thoroughly, especially thanks to M and D who drove up from Houston for the occasion. I finally went to sleep when they left at 7am to catch a flight. ;-)
