elf diagnosis

mood: complacentcomplacent

self-diagnosis:

severe eyestrain + stress + mild seasonal allergies.

My glasses are:
2 prescriptions out of date
peeling protective coating
scratched
smudged

I've been wearing them exclusively (not bothering to put in my contacts instead), and working long stretches at (a laboratory full of) computer screens doing visually-intensive work (examining thousands of scanned documents).

I took the day off work today and have been in bed sleeping off a headache. Never became a full-blown migraine, it was duller than that. I think I got off easy, considering a true migraine makes you beg for the sweet release of death.

I've taken off my glasses. I'm typing this about a foot away from the screen. And it feels wonderful. I'm going to put in my contacts and see how that feels, although they are about one prescription out of date as well.

Hopefully there are two or three paychecks waiting for me at my post office box. One of them is hereby assigned to my eye doctor and some new kickass soft/hard contact lenses.

I will ask my eye doctor about them, but I have an eye condition called kerataconus that requires a semi-hard lens in my left eye. If I live long enough I may need corneal transplants. Sign your donor cards!

Don't just sign your donor cards but tell your closest living relatives your wishes!!! They don't look at the donor cards but follow the wishes of your spouse or parents. Tell your family!!!

*on a light side note- what exactly happens in an elf diagnosis? can I diagnose an elf?

an elf diagnosis is a lot like a regular one, except instead the "doctor" says, "now this may tickle just a little bit."
