temp work today, first time in a long while.

forgot how much of a combination rush and ego boost it can be to work beneath one's station; to go slumming. Take a job at half your usual rate and suddenly you're a genius and oh that's wonderful we're so glad you're here.

it's a four-month project involving a roomful of computers and indexing scanned documents. i'll have most of it automated by friday. somehow i've convinced them they should punch a hole in the firewall and let me keep the computers purring through the night. prolly finish the whole 4 months in a couple of weeks.

...

i am crying, though. exhausted 5-year old weariness and no one is waiting for me to ask how my day was and understand the answer, no one to hold me and love me back into myself.

...

there's the dinner bell, heh. literally; we have this giant cowbell and the dinner cook walks down the hall of each wing of the house ringing the bell and caterwauling, e.g., "dinner! din-urrrrr! yeah, it's dinner! i got dinner, how 'bout you?! dinner!"

Do you mean *here* as into your room or *here* as into your journal? I have to say that I particularly enjoyed 11/16/04. Hubba Hubba..

Yeah. As in room, in the original metaphor of the post.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I know that I did! Exhibitionism is fun, and you can't catch any nasty diseases from it. I do worry sometimes about sensitive listeners out there who can't or won't tune out, and the potential psychic collateral damage there, but I can't be responsible for them. I have love to share, at least in this particular way, and it's something I can offer to people's experience that doesn't take anything away from my own. Since I'm an introvert, that's an especially empowering thing for me.
