So, I ran out of Adderall a week ago, and I've been engaged in a freewheeling experiment in being, since then. My sleep cycle is shot. I have only the slightest notion that today is Thursday

It's a lot like not wearing pants.

no pants no pants, la la la

Yet I have managed to get some work done and meet with clients -- a day late in each case but still putting a roof on the table and bread over my head.

I ran errands today. Plunging forward from one to the next, being amazed by each, like a kid in the baby seat of a parent's 10-speed. Making lots of good choices about which errand NOT to run because there isn't "time" but still getting lost in thought/the grocery store for a few hours. I am taxing my newfound (and hard-earned) coping skills and techniques as far as they go and then some. Yes, we happen to be taking a shortcut through the Target store parking lot. No, we can't go to Target. Yes, that is one of the errands we need to run, and it is useful and we could be proud of getting that done. But we already told the client we will be there shortly and we are now only a few blocks from their office. And Target is very, very large. And orange. Sooo very orange and plastic. I need sugar and caffeine. This is the third time I've remembered that I need sugar and caffeine since I first noticed but the gas station was on the wrong side. Yes, I know, you could try very hard and go straight to the one item you need and straight back to the checkout. But EVERYTHING TAKES 15 MINUTES and I think we can agree that Target contains at least two everythings if not three. So on we go and so it goes on and on as we do.

Naptime.

Tehe.

You're getting warmer. Are you colour blind?

Nope. (I checked.) I pass all the tests I can find online. However, a "slightly analomous trichromate" may pass those tests. I might have a bit of atypical dueteranalomy.

Side note: I can make #ff3300 text against an #ff0000 background fade in and out of contrast if I stare at it.

But so yeah, I go and look at the Target.com site, and its branding message is clearly RED. With orange as an accent color.

But the store is quite ORANGE in my metaphorical memory. This bears some further looking into, I think. I know that one of the treatments for ADD involves using colored filters (usually incorporated into tinted glasses or sunglasses) and this has effects on perception, which can sometimes be an improvement, which further can sometimes be permanant.

A theory:
It may be a branding failure, but I associate Target with the color of its plastic shopping carts... after they've faded in the sun. Or am I imagining that, too? I'm going to go look.

Sorry I put no links in this; maybe later.

Tinted glasses are also used to help with dsylexia.

My lingere adventure has been mostly at Target actually.

I liked your bread on the headline and read it to my co-workers.

I also like this "no pants for you" plan. ;)

Life is so much better when viewed through tinted lingerie.

That's great! I laughed -- a lot indeed.

I will agree with you on most excerpts, though. My memory of colour is very poor at best. My older cousin still debate to this day the exact colour of his father's work truck in comparison to their family sedan. We were both much younger back then.

I know little about being ADD; however, (and there's always a however) I've been questioned to being at least slightly ADD. I do employ darque glasses at any rate. I shall look up this "use" of treatment.

"ADD" is a convenient and useful placeholder term

ADHD, ADD, and especially "Adult ADD" is a fuzzy diagnosis that encompasses something like 10 different tendencies and three or four different sorts of structural brain differences, all overlapping, of which I have perhaps seven or eight and everyone has at least two.

I think the problem is that the older target *signs* have faded somewhat, so that they're mostly red at night, but orangy when backlit by fluorescent lights.
