The nation's first bicycle “pick-up” service is now available through Better World Club.

Better World Club will supply this service nationwide. It works just the same as our reliable emergency roadside assistance program for automobiles. We'll take you and your bike to the nearest repair facility, or home, within 30 miles from pick up. Each covered member is entitled to a total of 2 service calls per year.

Prices start at $39.95 for one cyclist. Add additional household cyclists, just $15 more. Scroll down for prices

I want to start a Yellow Bike Project on the playa. Logan says that something like 500 bikes are abandoned there each year.

I have it but ...

Mom gifted me with this service for Christmas and I have used it once. Although it did, more or less, work as advertised be prepared to deal with a lot of dumb as bricks people on the phone who have no idea that bicycles exist. I waited 2-3 hours for a pickup and over that time had 4 or more phone calls and each time explained anew that what I had was a bicycle, not a motorcycle or a car. When the pickup finally came it was a motorcycle service man who was very surprised that I had a bicycle. He picked me up though. When I spoke to another person on the phone with Better World, they did not even know the company offered bike service at all. It seems like a good idea but they need to get a little more on the ball -- what if the next motorcycle tow company doesn't want to take my bike?
