mood: geekygeeky
music: Outkast - Hey Ya (the meme-y Charlie Brown video version)

I wanted to be able to select some text and say "this is something that should go in my PalmOS, or whatever organizer, you know, hey computer, do something useful, be a secretary, figure it out."

So I googled for it.[1]

Here it is: "anagram 2.2.0" is now running in my system tray, and I just selected the block of text someone sent me about a party, pressed the hotkey, and Bob's not your uncle but his party is now an appointment in Outlook which syncs nicely to the PDA! Yow!

[1] Want something to exist? Goggle for it. It will be created. Usually about six months retroactively, unless it's a meme. but I digress.

NICE! Right now I dump misc stuff all in a text file and have to do a tetx search in files to locate any thing. I really might try that outlook demo.

That's not half bad, because "searching is cheap", but then you have to watch out for the "database of record" problem. (i.e. _where_ do I search?)

Good question! I had to look in the browser history to check. Here's the Quincy, M.D.:

After two misfires, I googled appointment microsoft +outlook +"system tray", and the first hit takes us to

http://www.slipstick.com/addins/notify.htm

I followed the sidebar link 'productivity' on that site to http://www.slipstick.com/addins/productivity.htm
and the fourth item on that list is our target.

Not the best example of technique; I can do way better.
