A group of people should get dressed up in the right colors or color combinations, go to that bookstore in San Francisco where that guy did the performance art of organizing it by color, and hang out around the part of the bookstore that you match.

I'll be the first to admit that my plan has some flaws.

I'll carry you every once in a while so we can leave one set of footprints and then write an inspirational poem about it later. :P

All great plans have flaws. I forgot my new all-purpose humor emoticon: :P

I used to use ;P all of the time, but then I decided that I wasn't winking, so I switched. ADD consciousness doesn't readily understand precise wink-application as applied in the field. (IMESHO) :P

I read every post and comment with an implied smiley. It's like seasoned salt; you can put it on almost everything.

I usually *post* with an implied smiley, as well, but I leave it off to encourage creative interpretation or confusion, which can also be teh funnay.

What a frustrating library.

"I need a book on origami."

"What color is the spine?"

"Eh?"

Jittery frustration ensues... (yes, even though the ambiance is real pretty)

This seems to be quite the common experience among booksellers.

Also, you are now responsible for my recent post containing the word "ambiance".

That would be a hell of a good way to hang out. I believe I've never acheived quite that flavor of lounging.

I don't know precisely why, but I do really like this photo. That dress is somewhere between angelic and succubic, or maybe both. And it kind of looks like books - a charming chameleon chancing carnal cheekiness ...

Okay, I'll stop now. Back to the dungeon with me.

It should come as no surprise to you all, then, that I borrowed this photo from this post in sexylibrarians...

I wish I'd known about that store when I was actively working at 1/2 Price. I'd have sent customers there when they asked if our fiction section was "organized by title or author?" because I always did want to snap back 'No, it's by color stupid.'

We did. I think just about everybody who went got their picture taken at the appropriate place along the shelves.

Me, I had to stand in the reds for my "Long Live Chairman Mao" shirt and in the purples for my hair.
