when we meet
you are
child on a playground swing
zoom by you going
and here again
but in motion

what do i do with this?

so i can choose to push
if i am prepared
and help you go more fun

or pull and slow you to me
if i know what i need

sometimes just watching you swing is nice
but then we did not touch
there are so many possibilities

I couldn't say why exactly, but this makes me very happy.

Thank you. I almost feel silly doing any explication but
This is possibly the most straightforward and unintentional thing i've written

it represents (my) raw understanding
of a single metaphor

i was half a sentence into a livejournal comment when i got frustrated
trying to put the idea into words conversationally
and directly to the person so they would receive it

i just made an exasperated noise and wrote the metaphor out directly
and then added the first half of the first paragraph to clarify the setting

and then the last paragraph is partly a meditation of what was just written

I mostly wrote it out so i could remember/to catch the idea

This is sweet.

And has a dash of ex-girlfriend flavor to it. I don't know if the chef intended this, but that's what it tastes like to me.
